The model that carried favour at the end of the debate is next format: Sprint individual – interval start qualification and final, Sprint relay, mixed teams, Middle individual Final, Long individual Final, Relay. This means that form 2017  each nation will have at least one competitor in finals. Qualification rules will be decided later on.
At the 2012 IOF General Assembly, Brian Porteous, Great Britain has been elected IOF President.  For our region it is important to tell that Maria Silvia Viti (ITA) and Tatiana Kalenderoglu (TUR) have been elected to the IOF Council for the next coming two year period.
More over, in recognition of their service to the international orienteering sport over many years, Sergio Grifoni (ITA)  and Zoran Milovanovic (SRB)  were awarded with the IOF  bronze pins of honour.
